Barley is a wonderfully versatile cereal grain with a rich nutlike flavor and an appealing chewy, pasta-like consistency. Its appearance resembles wheat berries, although it is slightly lighter in color. Sprouted barley is naturally high in maltose, a sugar that serves as the basis for both malt syrup sweetener. When fermented, barley is used as an ingredient in beer and other alcoholic beverages. 


kusina ingredients
  • 2 cups barley (cooked)
  • 1/2 cups chicken breast (cooked)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp spring onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp five spice powder
  • 1/4 cup mixed vegetables
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 pc egg
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • salt (pinch)
  • sugar (pinch)
  • pepper
kusina instructions 
1 Stir fry the garlic and ginger.

2 Add in the chicken,mixed vegetables,spring onion and stir.

3 Add the egg and scramble the egg. Add the barley,soy sauce,five spice,pepper,salt and sugar.

4 Add the spring onion and remove from heat.
